Was poking around for something cheap that would help me understand data stuff better when I stumbled on this one — got it free, which was kinda awesome. Before this, I found decision models pretty confusing, especially when we started getting into odds and payoffs in class. Then I hit Chapter 5, all about decision trees, and suddenly things clicked. The way it showed you how to map out choices and consequences visually actually made it way less intimidating. There was this one example about choosing between different projects and figuring which one gave the best outcome — I legit used that at my internship when they asked me to compare proposals, and guess what? Manager was impressed! Not gonna lie, sometimes explanations get a bit too wordy or jump around, which made me reread a few parts but overall it’s easy enough to follow. I recommend it to my classmates for sure, especially if you get the free copy deal too. Happy I found it 'cause it helped me in a real way with understanding and applying decision trees, and probably will in the future too.

The book is a decent introduction but lacks depth in certain areas, making it more suitable for beginners than advanced users.

I've been using this book as part of my coursework, and it has proven to be quite insightful. The mixture of theoretical concepts with practical applications has made complex ideas easy to grasp. While the delivery took a couple of days longer than I anticipated, it was well worth the wait. However, some parts could have been explained in more detail. Overall, it's a solid guide for beginners and intermediate learners.

A top-notch resource for anyone interested in data modeling. The content is quite thorough and methodically covered. Typically, books on this subject lean heavily into theory, but 'Data Models And Decisions' strikes the perfect balance. I got an extra discount using my membership and the delivery was super fast. All the crucial models are explained with real-world examples. Definitely worth the investment!
