Grabbed this book for my Clemson University exam prep with a decent discount which felt like a win but gotta say the stuff inside is kinda heavy and not super quick to get through. the solved problems help but sometimes the explanations go too deep and slow me down. i think it works okay if you got time to study carefully but if you're in a rush, it might feel overwhelming. its pages and print quality are solid, tho. would’ve preferred a bit more straightforward and easier flow so it feels like less of a slog honestly.

Needed something solid for my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering studies so I grabbed this FE book at a discount and honestly it’s been pretty great. The problems and examples aren’t super flashy but they do break things down in a way that sticks with me. Took a little longer to get the hang of some sections but nothing crazy confusing, which helps a lot when cramming. The print and paper feel decent which ain’t always given, and delivery was way faster than expected. I haven’t finished yet but it’s helping me a ton prepping for exams, so happy with it overall.

So I stumbled on this FE book while trying to find study help online, and score — grabbed it on discount which made it even better. Just opened it yesterday; the first thing that caught my eye was Chapter 5 on Load Analysis. I’d been struggling to figure out different types of loads for concrete structures, and that chapter broke it down step-by-step with examples that actually made sense instead of feeling like a math headache. I spent a few hours going through the practice problems there, and — not kidding — got that lightbulb moment where it all clicked why certain loads matter more in design. It’s cool because I started using what I learned to review my class notes for the structure design project due soon, and it felt way less confusing this time. The only thing is sometimes the paragraphs feel wordy or they throw in formulas too quickly, so I had to re-read a couple spots which slowed me down a bit. But for the price (especially with the discount) it’s solid study help if you’ve got time to sit with it. The book’s got decent paper quality too, which surprises me for a textbook. If you’re prepping for FE exams or just wanna get practical with load stuff, this’ll do the job. Planning to hit the next chapter soon to keep the momentum. Overall, pretty happy with this find so far and would tell a buddy to check it out.

Was looking for something more affordable for FE exam prep and luckily found this FE Civil Review on discount which was a nice budget win. Seriously needed help understanding the stuff from my structural engineering class and when I got to Chapter 8 on Bending Moments, it honestly flipped a switch for me. The way it walks through problems step-by-step including diagrams made curve and shear problems way less confusing than just reading class notes. About halfway into that chapter I had this moment where I finally got how bending effects the beams — stuff I’d kinda struggled with before just made way more sense. Tried out some practice problems right after and surprising myself by speeding through without second guesses was honestly wild. Not gonna say it reads super fast tho; some explanations got pretty detailed and I had to reread parts a couple times but in a good way because it clarified stuff that usually trips people up. The pages are tough and the print is clear too which helped keep me focused overall. For what I paid on discount this is legit a steal and stuck good for my review before exams, will probably keep referencing that chapter a lot. Would tell peers not to underestimate this book even if it looks dense at first, another pass through Chapter 8 might open doors for ya like it did for me.

Bought this on discount for my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering studies and yeah, it’s useful but kind of a slow read. The solved problems are helpful but some sections get way too wordy which makes you have to go back and reread parts to get what they mean. Paper quality is good and the book feels pretty sturdy which is nice. Shipping wasn’t long, maybe about a week. I’ve only looked at a few chapters but it’s working okay for breaking down tricky stuff, just wish it was a bit easier to read fast since I don’t always have a ton of time to review it.

While searching around for study stuff that wouldn’t break the bank, I ended up snagging this FE book at a nice discount. It showed up way quicker than I figured and was nicely packaged, so bonus points right there. I dove straight into Chapter 4, which covers Statics of Structures, because that’s exactly where I’ve been stuck for a while with my class. This chapter broke down the problems in a way that didn’t confuse me like some other books — the step-by-step approach really clicked. I remember getting kinda frustrated trying to piece together how different forces interacted but after working through the solved problems here, it started to make sense for the first time. That moment hit me when I was solving a beam reaction problem; I didn’t need to go back and reread the steps twice to get it off my mind, which is huge for me. Plus, I used some of these methods to check my homework and noticed I was way less lost, which gave me some real confidence.
The only little downside I caught was some formulas suddenly dropped on the page with not a ton of explanation, so I had to pause and think before it sank in, but not a deal-breaker at all. The pages feel sturdy and aren’t bleeding through from highlighters, so happy with the physical that way.
If you want something affordable that doesn't just pile on the jargon and actually leaves you with skills you can use in homework or real engineering problems, I’d say this book is worth it. That load of examples and the way Chapter 4 handled the whole force questions got me through a pretty rough patch in class, and I’ll likely keep coming back for more. Planning to spread out my reading into the rest now cuz so far, this might be my new go-to book.

This FE book showed up quicker than I expected and the pages feel sturdy which is nice for heavy use. Bought it discounted for a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute class and haven’t had the chance to read much yet but looks like it’ll stick by me for exam prep. Packaging was good too.

Was hunting for some study help to get past a tough spot in my civil engineering stuff at school when I found this book on a sale—that was a total steal. When I got to Chapter 6, which covers Shear and Moment Diagrams, it totally shifted how I was seeing things. Before, those diagrams went way over my head and just made homework a headache. This chapter walks through multiple examples in a step-by-step way that actually stuck with me instead of feeling like math thrown at random. At one point, I actually sat back when I solved a problem without needing to circle back two or three times—that was a real "ah-ha" moment. Trying those sample problems right after helped me check how my class notes matched up, and I realized I had way more to correct than expected. Fair warning though, some bits of the chapter went a little quick and dropped formulas without much chat around them, so I had to slow down and puzzle those parts out which disrupted my flow. The paper quality is pretty decent too, it’s easy to flip pages without stressing they’ll tear. For the price I got it (discounted, pretty happy not to bust the bank), this is a solid pick if you want some real examples that tackle tricky civil stuff. I’d definitely tell a buddy holding bags of frustration over shear and bendingm moments to give this a shot if they’ve got time to work through it and aren’t looking for lightning-quick read. Made exam prep a lot less painful at least. Hoping later chapters hit that same practical vibe.

I've barely had a chance to crack open this FE book yet but it got here way sooner than expected after buying it discounted which was a nice surprise. The cover feels sturdy and the paper quality seems decent enough for me to highlight without worrying about bleed-through which is always good for heavy study. I needed it for my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering studies and so far having the physical copy in hand gives me a little boost of motivation. Haven't read much content but the layout looks pretty tidy which should help when I get into exams prep next week. So yeah, for the price and fast arrival this is looking like a smart buy.
