I absolutely loved 'The Old Devils'! The way Kingsley Amis portrays the complexities of life and friendships among the Welsh retirees is truly masterful. Each character is so well-drawn, it felt like they were real people. I also appreciated the humor woven into the narrative; it made the story even more engaging. Plus, my copy arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a deep and entertaining read!

Amis' 'The Old Devils' offers a humorous yet poignant glimpse into the lives of a group of friends who have seen, done, and drank it all. A delightful read! While not everyone might resonate with the slow-paced exploration of retired life in Wales, the depth of character analysis is something that's hard to overlook. Some scenes were strikingly vivid and relatable, which made up for moments where I felt dragged a little. Moreover, got a slight discount as a member, which is always nice. Pleased with my purchase.
