I am a seasoned tutor/teacher, a 2012 graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with a Bachelor of Education in Art. Back in 2010, I undertook a Certificate in Information Technology and Basic Microsoft Office Technology to furnish me with basic digital literacy skills which form the backbone of driving today's technology-infused educational environments.
Throughout all my professional life, I have dedicated my time to tutoring high school and college students in various subjects: from History and English to Science and Social Studies. I am an educator directed towards learner-centered teaching, while considering the special way that each learner learns. I have always developed and implemented dynamic lesson plans that emphasized not only the key academic concepts but also engaged the students in fostering critical thinking and understanding of the subject.
Not only that, but I have written numerous essays, research papers, and projects, with the use of proper citation in the APA and MLA formats, in academic writing. My research skills, well-developed through training and practice, coupled with careful editing and proofreading skills, guarantee that the written work will be of high quality, error-free, and meet the standards of academic integrity.
I have very good interpersonal skills complementing the professional ones, and this allows me to bring forth my ideas clearly and have effective interactions in the educational setup. Further, I am well conversant with Microsoft Office and a good range of academic research databases, giving me extra support in handling other educational and administrative tasks effectively. I am proud of my ability to work on my own, to bring in tasks under pressure, and to constantly adapt to new educational challenges. I take my personal growth and professional development in teaching methodology as one of the major driving forces of the academic success of my students.
