I have worked as a private tutor in English and Mathematics for six months, tutoring students aged 2nd to 6th grade. My students have gone on to score in the 99th percentiles of their examinations, including the COGAT test and SOL tests. I also served as a debate captain, through which I created lesson plans and taught upwards of 50 students lessons in public speaking, debating, and argumentation. I have months of experience tutoring in basic math at the elementary and middle school level. I know the best ways to explain and communicate hard concepts and problems, and work well with my students to break down difficult questions into simple, understandable pieces.
