Question: Work Problem 13.23, part (b), except with wall and cylinder emissivity of w = 0.95 and e = 0.12, respectively. Data from 13.23

Work Problem 13.23, part (b), except with wall and cylinder emissivity of ε w = 0.95 and εe = 0.12, respectively.

Data from 13.23

A long cylindrical rod of very high emissivity is heat treated within a long, evacuated oven of square cross section as shown in the sketch. The oven walls exhibit blackbody behavior. Due to nonuniform heat losses, the temperatures of the oven walls are slightly different and are T2 = 600 K, T3 = 575 K. T4 = 555 K, and T5 = 585 K, respectively.

(b) Determine the steady-state temperature of the rod when a = 0.5m and b = 0.25m.
