At the close of 2006, British gaming company Rank Group made a deal with the Seminole Tribe of Florida to sell its stake in the Hard Rock business, to the tune of $965 million dollars. The deal covered ownership of the Hard Rock brand name, 124 Hard Rock Cafes and stores located around the world, 8 hotels, and two Hard Rock Live concert venues.
