I have substantial experience in teaching math concepts that range from basic math concepts up through AP Calculus 1 and 2. I understand the importance of relating the math concepts to real-world applications so that students have a solid understanding of why and what is being asked of them. Knowing and applying math vocabulary is just as important is math computation skills. Math is not about memorizing facts for a test and moving on, it's about competency-based learning where students should master the skills and concepts in order to develop that life long connection to math skills.
