A field experiment was conducted to compare the effectiveness of different traps for catching beetles (Journal of Chemical Ecology, Vol. 94, 2011). Paraffin traps were baited either with or without linalool. Also, the color of the trap was varied as green or yellow. Seven traps for each combination of bait and color-a total of 28 traps-were set 1 meter from the ground in a random grid pattern.
