A wide variety of people visit the foundation's website, from researchers who are interested in applying for grants to reporters writing about health and education issues to members of the general public. Consequently, you can't pin down a specific audience for your report. In addition, because people will simply download a PDF file of the report from the website, you don't have the opportunity to write a traditional letter or memo of transmittal. How should you introduce your report to website visitors?
a. Write a brief description of the report, explaining its purpose and content; post this information on the website, above the link to the PDF file so that people can read it before they decide whether to download the file.
b. Provide an e-mail link that people can use to send you an e-mail message if they'd like to know more about the report before reading it.
c. Write a news release describing the report and post this document on the website's "Newsroom" section.
d. Count on the title of the report to introduce its purpose and content; don't bother writing an introduction.
