Carrigan, a district manager of Simples Time Recorder Co., was investigating complaints of mismanagement of the company’s Jackson office. He called at the home of Hooks, the secretary of that office, who expressed the opinion that part of the trouble was caused by the theft of parts and equipment by McCall, another employee.
