Explain exactly what is wrong with the following argument: If the government buys me a suit of clothes with borrowed money and never pays off the debt, then my grandchildren will be taxed to make interest payments even though they have never seen the clothes. Therefore, government borrowing allows me to live high on the hog at my rand children’s expense.
