Find a communication example that you believe could be improved by applying the visual design principles you learned in this chapter. It can be from any medium-a webpage, a magazine ad, a promotional e-mail message, an illustration from a report-anything that you can either copy or scan into a word processing file. With the image in your word processing program, annotate it with notes that identify visual weaknesses and describe ways to fix those weaknesses. (In Microsoft Word, for example, you can use the "AutoShapes Callouts" feature to place notes wherever you'd like on the page.) In a paragraph of accompanying text, explain why you believe the message isn't as effective as it could be and how your suggestions would make it more effective.
