Fredrik Colting wrote a book entitled, 60 Years Later: Coming Through the Rye, a riff on J. D. Salinger's famous Catcher in the Rye. Alice Randall wrote a novel entitled The Wind Done Gone, which retells the civil war story Gone with the Wind from the perspective of Scarlett O'Hara's (imagined) black half-sister.
