Question:
An infinite plane lies parallel to the yz plane at x = 2 m and carries a uniform surface charge density σ = 2 μC/m2. An infinite line charge of uniform linear charge density λ = 4 μC/m passes through the origin at an angle of 45o with the x axis in the xy plane. A sphere of volume charge density ρ = –6 μC/m3 and radius 0.8 m is centered on the x axis at x = 1 m. Calculate the magnitude and direction of the electric field in the xy plane at x = 1.5 m, y = 0.5 m.
