Measures of income distribution from the CIA World Factbook show that the most unequal income distribution in the world in 2009 was in Namibia. Namibia is also a relatively poor country, with per capita GDP of $6,900 in 2010. Brazil is considered to be one of the fastest growing of the newly industrializing countries, with a per capita GDP of $10,900. But Brazil also has the 10th most unequal income distribution in the world. Are the poorest people in Brazil likely to be better or worse off than the poorest people in Namibia? Briefly explain.
