Write the null hypothesis for the General Linear F-test that is found in standard SAS and Stata regression output. Write the alternative hypothesis and the full and reduced models associated with this test in the case of bivariate regression and multiple regression with two predictors (use Y as the outcome and X1 and X2 as the predictors). Be sure you can show how the reduced model is obtained by placing the constraints of the null hypothesis on the full model and that you are able to read the SSE’s and d f ’s from SAS and Stata output in order to conduct the F-test by hand.
