AA 1 Too Much Information Because of information overload, we filter what we read, and we pay more attention to what is funny or bizarre. A common trap is confirmation bias: focusing on information that reinforces our existing beliefs. 2 Not Enough Meaning When information is too confusing, we make sense by drawing conclusions that might not be valid, placing higher value on the familiar, oversimplifying complex information, and assuming we know what others think. 3 Need to Act Fast Our sense of competition compels us to make quick decisions, which leads us to feel overconfident and self-important, favor immediacy over delayed action, and continue investing in something we started. 4 Limited Memory We can't remember everything, so we omit or insert details, draw generalizations based on associations and stereotypes, and choose too few examples as representations of larger events and lists.
