Think about a culture of interest to you. Do the following:

A. Describe five preconceptions or stereotypes you have about the culture.

B. Conduct some research and find out how correct you are. Use books or articles written by experts on the culture. Or find a friend from that country or someone with a lot of experience working there and ask about the accuracy of your preconceptions and stereotypes.

C. Report your findings. For each preconception, describe causes and accuracy. Explain what this might mean about the way one develops impressions, holds preconceptions, and thinks in stereotypes of other cultures.
