The USA TODAY Snapshot titled “Baby’s First Photo Reveal” (USA TODAY, October 17, 2014) summarized data from a survey of 1001 mothers with children under the age of 2. The Snapshot includes the following statement: “83% of moms post new baby photos from the delivery room.” This information could be used to provide an estimate of the proportion of new mothers who post pictures on social media from the delivery room. Construct and interpret a 99% confidence interval for the proportion of mothers of children under the age of 2 who posted pictures of their new baby on social media from the delivery room.
