I have about 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience. I have taught a range of subjects that I have an academic background in or even languages that I speak. One of the best ways to gain teaching experience is to teach someone for free or in exchange for them teaching you.
I prefer and pump the concepts slowly rather than going in a super sonic speed. For any student irrespective of class acquiring interest in the subject matters rather than learning like a machine.
Tutoring is something else. Usually one on one, but I prefer two students at a time, so they can spark one another off and teach one another.
BUT don't think that doing it for free or for very little is doing them a favor.
If you pay for something then you perceive it to be valuable. Make them pay a fair figure.
I've tutored for free and the student comes now and again, doesn't let you know even if there is a bona-fide reason for not turning up.
