Give the class a list of eight or ten common generic products (e.g., cars, peanut butter, detergent, toothpaste, gasoline, toilet paper, microwave dinners, a professional football team, an airline, and a soft drink) and ask them to list their favorite brand(s) of the product. See if those who are participating know how they developed their brand preference and how the products’ attributes are related to their attitudes toward the product(s).
