(a process known as criterion referencing). That is, questions should be developed that are written directly from the objectives and can be answered directly from the materials.

Evaluation of the self-directed learning package should involve determining ease of use, how up-to-date the material is, whether the package is being used as intended, and whether trainees are mastering the objectives.
