I wrote it because I’ve watched end users misuse the outputs of well-designed information systems or not use them at all. But, another author, one with a different perspective, might say something else.
The students don't have enough experience to know if they agree or not. They might decide provisionally to believe that statement until they know more. At this stage, the biggest impact on what they believe is you, their professor!
