Recall three recent conversations you have had. (If you are taking part in a major project, think about three recent conversations in your group meetings.) For each conversation, write down who participated, what you talked about, how well you listened (on a scale of 1 [not well at all] to 10 [very well]) and what some of the reasons were for your good or poor listening (e.g., boring topic, time of day, monotone delivery, preoccupation with something else). During a class discussion, look for factors common to good and poor listening.
