The dean of a school of nursing (SON) and the associate deans of undergraduate and graduate programs have experienced increasing frustration with a lack of clinical placements for the students. The region where the SON exists is saturated with similar SONs, experiencing similar challenges. There are several health systems in the region and a longstanding group, composed of academic and practice representatives, that coordinates student placement.
