A study was conducted in Wales relating blood-pressure and blood-lead levels [46]. It was reported that 4 of 455 men with blood-lead levels ≤11 μg/100 mL had elevated SBP (≥160 mm Hg), whereas 16 of 410 men with blood-lead levels ≥12 μg/100 mL also had elevated SBP. It was also reported that 6 of 663 women with blood-lead levels ≤11 μg/100 mL had elevated SBP, whereas 1 of 192 women with blood-lead levels ≥12 μg/100 mL had elevated SBP.
