• Responsibility. There is a guarded attitude towards giving too much responsibility, as workers like guidance and older workers in particular prefer clear instructions. Motivation rises when more responsibility is given to employees in their own area, but this comes with experience. There are few precise job descriptions being used, and instructions seem to relate to the job at hand.

General rules of conduct exist in some companies. One company made its rules clear in a two-day induction session: no spitting, no smoking, how to dress and cut your hair (an in-house hairdresser is employed).
