The 140mmwide cavity between the studs is filled with mineral fiber batt insulation. The inside is finished with 13mm gypsum wallboard and the outside with 13mm wood fiberboard and 13mm × 200mm wood bevel lapped siding. The insulated cavity constitutes 80 percent of the heat transmission area, while the studs, headers, plates, and sills constitute 20 percent.
