a. Compute the conditional proportions of heart disease given each degree of baldness.

b. There are six pairwise differences. Which two are the largest? Which one is the smallest?

c. Use the Theory-Based Inference applet to compute p-values and confidence intervals for the two largest differences and the smallest difference.

d. Are the results from the theory-based approach valid for the data in this study? State the validity conditions and explain how you are deciding whether or not these conditions are met.

Many studies have been done to look at the relationship between heart disease and baldness. In one study, researchers selected a sample of 663 heart disease male patients and a control group of 772 male patients not suffering from heart disease from hospitals in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Each was asked to classify their degree of baldness. The results are given in the following table. Use these data to answer the following questions.
