I currently work for Portland State Univerity's Computer Science department as a Facilitator/Technical Course Support Specialist for all the lower division classes (100-200 level). All of the programming classes (162, 163, 202, 299) have a mandatory weekly lab associated with them.
My job as a TCSS is to assist the students with the course material during this time. These labs are spent hands-on coding and a great time for the students to be able to ask questions. I facilitate our CS299 lab which is a data-structures proficiency demonstration preparation lab. I administer homework, record attendance, observe students code and record their proficiency, manage 2 other TCSS, and help the students through difficult data structures algorithms. We have a strong recursive solution-based focused curriculum and expect students to be proficient in recursive solutions before applying for upper-division.
My expertise lies within data structures, recursion, object-oriented design, and basic good practice coding skills. The majority of our curriculum is taught in C++ and some Java. I have some javascript/jQuery experience as well. My fellow TCSS and friend developed a chrome extension for our school that integrates rate my professor data into the registration process. As my current job is tutoring CS students in a university setting, I believe I would be a good candidate to tutor people all over the world on this material.
