Participants will choose to prepare a speech about “Legal Aspects of Bankruptcy” or “Credit—Good, Bad, Legal Responsibilities.”

Each participant will be provided ten (10) minutes to develop a speech for the topic they choose. Notes can be taken on the cards provided by the teacher. The length of the speech will be no less than one (1) minute and no more than three (3) minutes. The contestant will speak before a panel of judges and a timekeeper. No audience will be allowed. One-minute and 30-second warnings will be given during the speech. Performance Indicators Evaluated

• Demonstrate effective communication skills.

• Describe the legal requirements and responsibilities for credit.

• Demonstrate effective speech presentation.

• Define bankruptcy.
