Question:

A beam of monoenergetic photons is directed at a triple-slit system, where the distance between adjacent slits is \(d\), and the photon wavelength is \(\lambda=d / 2\). Find the angles \(\theta\) from the forward direction for which there are

(a) interference maxima

(b) interference minima.

(c) Then show that some maxima have the same maximum probability as the central peak, but that others have a smaller maximum. Find the ratio of the larger to the smaller maximum probabilities.
