Question:
1. What are some common statistics used in the field of criminology/criminal justice? How are they used and what do they mean to you? For those of you who have experience working in the CJ field, what types of data are collected by criminal justice agencies in the system? What becomes of this information? How is it used by the agency itself?
2. Which amendment to the U.S. constitution protects against unreasonable searches and seizures? Which are the two official measures of crime in the United States? Which standard of proof is necessary for police officers to conduct stops and frisks? How much force can an officer use when making an arrest? What is the exclusionary rule?
3. Many police officers and citizens feel that the exclusionary rule is unfair. This rule sometimes allows hardened criminals to escape justice and be released on a "technicality." the exclusionary rule bars the use of illegally obtained evidence or statements. This rule applies in many drug related cases. Do you think this rule is fair? Why? Should the exclusionary be amended? How?
4. Respond to the following if you are agree or disagree:
I believe that the exclusionary rule should be amended especially in drug and murder cases. For instance, if el chapo’s, the infamous Mexican drug lord, civil rights were violated; I would not lose a night’s sleep. Evil people, who admit that they are drug lords and criminals, and they is strong, undisputed evidence, should have no rights. What about the rights of the people that they have exploited and murder over the years. What rights should the Boston marathon bombers have? What rights do terrorists have? None as far as I am concerned. The American criminal justice system is weak in certain areas and the exclusionary rule is one of them. the exclusionary rule should be amended to allow police officers to use any means necessary to take down terrorist and drug traffickers.Materials and process in manufacturing
