Each product has a certain profit associated with it, also each product takes up a certain amount of space measured in cubic feet, and items also weigh a certain amount measured in pounds. The profit, volume and weight associated with each product are shown in the following table.
The size of the trailer limits the total volume to 3400 cubit/feet; also the trailer has a capacity to carry 42,000 pounds. Because of the demands on the product mix, a certain amount of each product is required. The number for each product A,B,C,D are required to be within 20% of the number of products shipped for product E.
A. Formulate the problem as an integer programming problem. Specify the complete model including all decision variables and constraints.
B. Specify the number of product shipped for each product and the profit associated with the mix.
