Question:
Conduct a thorough analysis of ONE of the three heroes we have read about from the Ancient World – Achilles, Odysseus or Rama – and analyze how the selected character deals with his own power and that of others.
Develop a clear overall thesis (or argument) about the hero you have chosen and his relationship with power. Specifically, you should address at least some the following questions, though you may also come up with other aspects of this topic as you develop your thesis: How does this particular ancient hero grapple with issues of power? In what ways does he seek power and use it responsibly and ethically? What kind of power is important to him? Is anything more important to him than power or getting his way? Is the character you are discussing merely heroic or is he also flawed in his interactions with others? How does the character react to imbalances of power? How does the character deal with power that others have over him, or that he has over others?
