It is required that an elevator and its contents, having a maximum weight of 5 kN, be lifted by 10m, starting from rest and then stopping after 6 seconds. A single motor and a cable winding drum can be mounted anywhere and used for the operation. During any lift or descent, the acceleration should not exceed 5 m/s ². Design a cable and pulley system for the elevator, and your design should include sketch/drawings of your system and plots of the power output required for the motor versus the height y traveled.
