Over the past year, the management of U.S. Security Associates, Inc. have realize the significance of having an efficient team that is fully committed to the company’s vision of being the best security company in terms of value and quality. With reported cases of employee complaints, the company’s management team has been left with major issues that may seriously affect the overall output of employees.
The Problem Statement:
As it is believed that the causes of these employee complaints had been reported to the concerned parties, it is clear that the management team revisited each and every complaint submitted with an aim of establishing the core root of the problem. The main problem established is that most of the employees are not appropriately motivated to work with satisfaction. This is an aspect that has entirely affected the quality of work that is being delivered and it is an issue that has turned out to be a major concern to the company. Therefore, the management feels that it is appropriate to improve the quality of work by enhancing employees’ satisfaction.
The Goal Statement:
To appropriately deal with employees complains, and significantly improve the quality of the work by satisfy the company’s employees.
The Scope Statement:
With regard to the goals of this project, the main focus of the management’s effort will be towards employees’ satisfaction and the quality of work is expected to improve upon the addressing this issue of employees’ satisfaction. Commencement of the project is planned to be in the next one week (October 14, 2013) and be completed in the next four weeks (November 11, 2013). Three weeks will be used for the purpose of training and development (workshop), of which employees will be put into three groups and each will have its week to undergo the training. The remaining one week will used performing the other option of motivating employees, which is offering them a compensation package designed and agreed upon by the heads of the management team and facilitate the documentation of the established results.
Critical-to-Cost:
With regard to the identified measures of adjustment, it has been established that it will cost the company an extra of $230,000 on annual basis for the significant changes to be achieved. $30,000 will go to the training needs as the human resource department would have established it; although the number may change as a result of the training nature. Another $30,000 will be set aside for the purpose of enhancing the working environment as determined by the concerned departments. Finally, a total of $170,000 will be set aside to facilitate the determined compensation pay for the company’s employees.
Required Resources:
The Six Sigma Project Team will consist of the following persons:
a. The Human Resource Manager
b. Training and Development Coordinator
c. Quality Assessment Officer
d. Employee Supervisor
Time is considered a significant resource in this case as employees, in the identified training groups, will have to undergo some formal training in shifts as planned. Therefore, a total of 6 hours of each member’s time for the next three weeks of the formal training, which will entirely consist of the company’s organized workshop. A budget of $30,000 is requested to cover the all the training needs, including the facilitation and any other relevant training resources.
