I get encountered with many technological devices at my workplace. Since it’s an online company therefore its entire business depends upon technology. From basic, fax machine, telephone, computer and printer or scanner, to the use of groove system, all are applied at my workplace. I find myself comfortable with all these technologies, but at first I didn’t know how to use fax machine and how to scan a paper. However, within a week, I have learnt everything, with the help of the operator. In the midst of my internship, I wish that I had better time management to balance my personal, work and academic life. I often don’t get the time to take rest or to eat properly, due to which I have different health issues.

The technology that is used at my internship location is not much different than the technology you would find at any other office. We have fax machines, copier/scanners, printers, and telephones with headsets. All of this technology helps us communicate not only internally, but also with people from the township and with business partners. One piece of technology that was new to me was an identification card maker. I had never seen or used one before so it took some adjusting learning how to create ID's for anyone coming on board to work for the company. After many attempts and trial and error, I was able to pretty much master the machine but it was difficult because it is a very sleek and modern piece of equipment. I don't think there were any skills that I needed that I didn't already have. I have worked in administrative environments before so I know how to carry myself. The only difference is that now since I am working in the personnel department, I handle confidential information so that is something that I have had to learn to deal with and am still working on perfecting.
