The first element of this project will be a multimedia file that makes your own persuasive case
Question:
The first element of this project will be a multimedia file that makes your own persuasive case for...something! We should be able to clearly understand what you're arguing and why, but bottom line, you can do anything you imagine effective to persuade your audience to agree with you. How you go about this is up to you, but the "multimedia” part refers to visual, textual and possibly other elements you have at your disposal, and I expect you to make considered use of these.
Your multimedia argument itself should also be entirely self-contained electronically -- that is, your media file should require no outside explanation, set-up or introduction to make sense and be persuasive to your audience. Incorporate ideas from our class readings and discussions as appropriate. For example, how will you convey Ethos in this electronic argument? What about Logical or Pathetic components? What appeals might you make to sell your case to your target audience? What specific strategies from TYFA or Aristotle can you implement here?
The actual format here may vary; PowerPoint would seem to lend itself especially well to this sort of application, but don't neglect other options, and check out the two pro and con articles on PowerPoint before just deciding on that as your default medium. A web page could also work well. You could create a playable a/v file in, say, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker/Windows Movie Live, put together something in Flash animation, give us a .pdf file, do up a web design.... I'm sure there are many, many more applications than this that could be productively used.
