Question:
Write a paper in which you need to address, the history of healthcare insurance dates back to the early 1900s, with many activities occurring and leading us to our current environment. In 2010, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) were signed into law. In 2017 the U.S. Congress signed Congressional Bill H. R. 1628 Titles “The American Health Care Act” (AHCA). The future and the content of the AHCA are a moving target with an unknown future, which promises much debate and discourse.
As identified in the initial course description, the laws impact (1) the insured (patient), (2) the health care providers (doctors, hospitals, health care facilities, etc.) as well as (3) the health care insurance companies and their stakeholders. However, as we have witnessed and addressed, our elected leaders have failed to come to agreement on the future design of health care in America and for all intents and purposes, will allow "OBAMACARE" insurance to die a slow and (for some Americans) painful death.
As you do your research, you will quickly note that the issues of health care coverage in America are not new and go back to the early 1900s. With that said, your PAPER is to answer this single question:
"Why does it appear to be so difficult for this country to settle on a workable, affordable and equitable health care offering for its 330 million citizens?"
