Imagine that each question below is an example from real research. For each scenario: (a) identify which level of measurement is being used: Interval, Ratio, Nominal or Ordinal; (b) briefly explain your reason for your selection.

Example:

• Question: Preferred social media platform (self-report): Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, other, none.
• Answer: Nominal; using categories and including "other" and "none" to make the list exhaustive.

1. Length of acquaintance: Ask couples to report the number of months they knew each other before getting engaged.

1. Personal relevance of issue: Ask people to rate how personally important politics are to them on a 5-point scale ranging from not at all important to very important.

1. Compliance-gaining strategies: Ask parents to describe how they tried to persuade their children to complete household chores and then classify strategies.

1. Ranking television violence: Ask people to rank levels of television violence as low, medium, or high.

1. Record amount of money deposited into savings account this month.
