been analyzed on the elementary drive cycle shown in the Fig. Over the one$-$hour cycle, on a flat

road, the vehicle is cruising at $50k\frac{m}{h}$ for a time period of $t_1=1800s,$ cruising at $90k\frac{m}{h}$ for

$t=1200s$ and in idle mode for $t=600$ s

i$.$ Determine the total distance travelled over the drive cycle.

ii$.$ If the idle period in the drive cycle in the figure below is replaced by a highway cruise at

$120$ km h for $600$ s $,$

a$.$ Deternine the uactive power required at $120k\frac{m}{h}$

b$.$ Detenmine the total motive energy and distance for the revised drive cycle.
