1. (25 points) Using the redacted Costco case provided, complete a Value Chain analysis for Costco. To record your answer, use the template in this file, which includes the list of primary activities provided in your textbook, with added clarification pertinent to Costco. Please use bullet points to indicate each separate point and use 10-point font to limit your answer to two pages. The case indicates at least a few assets, capabilities, and/or activities for each component of the value chain. Some components have many more assets, capabilities and activities than others. Remember you are looking for the assets, capabilities and activities that Costco engages in to compete and deliver superior value to its customers. When reading the case, be sure to focus on those assets, capabilities and activities. (Do not include aspects of Costco's business that are not considered assets, capabilities, or activities. If you need a reminder, review the assets and capabilities list from class, as well as, the list of what does not constitute an asset, capability or activity.) To ensure you receive all the points possible, be thorough in your analysis of each section of the value chain. Consider providing more points than are required. You may find that some activities fall under more than one value chain component. You may repeat them so you're aware of them, but will only receive credit once. Those activities that appear in more than one component of the value chain are likely part of Costco's SCA. Be as specific as possible in your answers; and remember, sometimes companies do 1 or 2 things extremely well. Sometimes they do a number of small things well that add up. If that latter is true, group those things together in your answer. 1. (25 points) Using the redacted Costco case provided, complete a Value Chain analysis for Costco.
