(1) A specially designed laboratory scale plate and frame filter press with a single frame was used to carry out a test on a precipitate of calcium carbonate suspended in water. The frame had a filtering area of 0.03m2. The test was carried out at a constant filtration pressure difference of 2.75105N/m2 with a slurry containing 0.073 weight fraction calcium carbonate.
