1. Are you a group or a team? Explain why. 2. What stage of team development are you in and which did you experience so far?
Now assume you are the manager of a small company that hired five employees, only two at minimum wage. One of these employees, Khan, tends to slack off when you are not around to directly supervise his work. When you are around, he puts out more work effort to avoid being disciplined, but he just doesnt seem motivated. Jack is the company clown. He spends most of the day telling jokes and making the other employees laugh. Jack is almost always late for work. The last time he was late you reprimanded him in front of all the other staff and Jack felt very uncomfortable, but made a joke out of it anyway. Lately, Khan has been taking a lot of sick time. Something is not right.
3.What can you do to motivate Khan and Jack so as to increase their performance?
4.Identify the behaviours you would like to see Khan increase and Jack decrease.
5.You must now design a program, for the same organization, to motivate, reward and include work life balance for your employees using any 2 theories (need, process or learning theories).
Keep in mind the following outcomes you wish to see in your employees: -increase the frequency of the functional behaviours you want the employees to exhibit -decrease the frequency of undesirable behaviours
