The first model is the one who open to change, innovation, and technology that can help the teamwork, as well as saving time and money, in which it's represented by Sam Nolan. His vision to change the company system was highly supported by Sandra Ivey , his former vice president , and Ethel Moore , the HR employee And another model is the one represented by the new vice president at Century Medical , Tom Carr. They both have different point of view and opposite each other. He is a type person who doesn't really want to see things change and he prefers to stay in traditional way. Additionally, the action that he takes as the new leader of the company is also seen as threatening by his subordinates in the firm , especially Sam Nolan and the team project . He put down the motivation and effort of the team by shouting at the meeting and told a joke about buying a couple of good cabinets instead of doing the project The mental model that Tom Carr has is driven by his belief that his job, include his employees is about people and not the technology. He believes that getting in contact with real people is better than doing everything by computer system. We can see here that Tom Carr's mindset can be classified as a mental model as barriers to change.
