Question: 1 . Each student will select and assess a real - life small to medium sized organization ( under 3 0 0 0 employees )

1. Each student will select and assess a real-life small to medium sized organization (under 3000 employees) for their individual report and post the name to the relevant discussion board to claim that business if it hasn't been posted before by another student.
2. Identify and categorize all sources of Scope 1,2, and 3 GHG emissions with data (not just percentage or intensity units). No need to define scopes just provide the breakdown of data for each scope in weight of CO2e for example 1,300 tonnes CO2e
3. Identify and discuss the 2-3 largest GHG emissions sources (Hot Spots) based on the data you've obtained and list the GHG emission factors relevant to the identified hotspots using the two links below. The unit of an emission factor is typically weight of CO2e per unit of activity data
Example Hotspot 1, Scope 1, Fleet fuel use, 32% of total emissions. Relevant emission factor: Gasoline 2.346 KgCo2e/L
Links for finding GHG emission factors:
Government of Canada GHG Emission Factors
Government of BC 2020 Best Practices for Quantifying GHG emissions
4. Identify and discuss the stakeholders and GHG related risks for that organization. Use your learnings from lesson/week one videos of stakeholder analysis and risk assessment.
5. Prepare a report: Based on your research and analysis, prepare a report targeted for executive management. The report should be no more than 1800 words in length and should include a brief description of the business and it's operations, an overview of the sector specific scope 1,2, and 3 emission sources and hotspots including data, and a section on stakeholder analysis and (GHG/Climate change risk assessment), and overall recommendations you have for the business. Avoid very general text and use numbers and data to show the scope 1,2, and 3 emissions and the hotspots (not just percentages). Don't use up the report space for definitions, unsubstantiated claims and praising of the business and other unneeded filler text. Make sure everything you include is relevant to the assignment. Also include a section on the relevant SDGs for the business you have chosen and list them. Have your reports well organized and easy to read. Use tables, bullet points as needed. Make sure you watch and use the stakeholder analysis video and the risk Matrix video in the week 1 presentation. Reports are due on Week 10. Upload the Pdf format before due date/time together with the 1 page assessment report (see below)on the last page.
6. Prepare and submit a one page personal assessment report outlining your learning experience during the course. Include your experiences, challenges, and notable learning moments both for your personal and teamwork processes. You can include this one page at the end of your first report. No need for separate submission.
