1. In a development well, the 8 3/4-in hole was drilled to 9,000 ft. It is intended to seal the wellbore using the 7-in casing. The next hole section is to be drilled using 5 7/8-in drill bit to the measured depth of 13,000 ft. This hole will be completed with 5 7/8-in casing. The drilling mud weight of 12 ppg will used to drill this hole section. Table Q1 shows the casing size selection. It is noted that the pore pressure gradient at the next section total depth is 0.4 psi/ ft.
