Question: 1 Objectives 1 . Design a rainfall simulator to create a rain with an average intensity of ( 6 mathrm { in }

1 Objectives
1. Design a rainfall simulator to create a rain with an average intensity of \(6\mathrm{in}/\mathrm{hr}\) over a circular area (radius \(=6\mathrm{ft}\)),
2. select your pump by determining the head and power needed for your system.
2 Materials
A 500-gallon water tank, a pump (efficiency \(\eta=90\%\)),4-in suction pipe (e \(=0.0002\)),3-in discharge pipe \((\mathrm{e}=0.0001\)), and a nozzle (0.3 in to 0.6 in\()\), which should be 10 ft above the water surface of the tank. Note that due to the space limit, the pump should be 6 ft away from the water tank. For safety reason, your pump should be at least 3 ft away from the water covered circular area.
3 Requirements
1. Please show your designed system
2. Please show all design computations that must cover the following topics/equations:
- Mass conservation - continuity equation;
- Energy conservation - energy equation;
- Power equation;
- Efficiency equation;
- Flow types (laminar and turbulent flow) and Reynolds number Re equation
- Pipe-friction head loss - Darcy -Weisbach equation;
- and Minor losses
